Access ramp for the disabled at St Kilda Pier
Located at St Kilda beach, a popular area for swimming or just relaxing with a latte, St Kilda pier is one of Melbourne’s icons. Stretching far out into Port Phillip Bay, the pier attracts throngs of sight seers, anglers, boating enthusiasts and diners to the historic café at the end of the pier.
The pier is wheel chair friendly, but a person in a wheel chair could not access the lower level of the pier. To overcome this problem, Parks Victoria contracted Civil One to design and build an access ramp and pick up platform on the lower level so pleasure boats can pick up and drop off disabled people.
